The iFade Tutorial
Please watch it in full.
Your hair is important to us.
Precut: If your hair is longer than 0.2 inches (5 mm) on the sides and back, you'll need to do a precut for an even base.
Clipping Angle: Always keep the clipper at a 90-degree angle to your head to ensure an even fade.
Mirrors: Use a mirror for the back of your head. A 360-degree mirror can be very helpful. You can get one for 70% OFF here.
Timing: It takes about 5 seconds to move the clipper from the start to the end of your fade line. Avoid moving too fast or too slow.
Comb Attachment: Attach the smaller comb with the bigger side (marked '6' for 6 mm).
Blade Position: Ensure the white moving blade is in its highest position. Adjust if necessary.
Clipping Angle: Hold the clipper at a 90-degree angle to your head.
Blade Adjustment: Ensure the white blade is at its highest point before starting.
Fade Lines: Select the start and end lines for your fade.
Activate Fading Function: Press the fading button (with the arrow-down symbol) to move the blade downward.
Clipping Motion: Move the clipper upward slowly and steadily, maintaining a 90-degree angle. It should take about 5 seconds.
Consistent Pressure: Apply consistent pressure for an even cut.
Second Pass: If the fade isn’t perfect on the first pass, go over it again.
Continue Around Head: Reset the blade position and repeat the process around your head.
Cleanup: Remove the hair below the fade line once the fade is complete.
To fix any uneven lines, you need "flick up" over the lines. Here's how to do it:
1. Press and hold the power button to turn it on.
2. Use the up or down button to move the blade to the desired position.
3. Once the blade is where you want it, quickly press the power button again to stop the blade from moving but keep the clipper running.
